Unlock Big Box (Advanced Users Only Please!)
Main Menu - Big Box
Step 1: Unlock Big Box
Access the SYSTEM MENU
Hold Player 1 Button 2 for 5 seconds OR Press HOME (FN+Left Arrow on the Wireless Keyboard)
Navigate to UNLOCK
Enter the code 1111 then press DONE, Big Box is now unlocked
With Big Box unlocked many new options are available!
Using Desktop Mode (aka Launch Box)
Adding Games in Desktop Mode
Near the bottom of the unlocked SYSTEM MENU list you’ll see an option to “Switch to Desktop Mode”, launch that and you’ll see the text-based Launchbox window after loading
In Desktop Mode navigate to the WRENCH icon at the top, then head to IMPORT, ROM Files. This only works for existing Platforms (visible on the left). Adding new Platforms is a lot more complicated unless you are already familiar with Launchbox, please reach out to us for assistance.
IMPORTANT: After making ANY changes here you must back it up! Otherwise your changes will be erased after rebooting the PC
Navigate to ADMIN on the left
Find the option for Backup Any New Frontend Settings
Right click that, then click PLAY. All done!
Go back to BIG BOX
Click the CUBE icon on the top left, then click Big Box. Launch Box will close itself and Big Box will open. All done!
Access Windows (for adding ROMs)
Press Control+Shift+Esc on the keyboard to open TASK MANAGER
In TASK MANAGER navigate to to FILE > Run New Task and in the pop up type EXPLORER and press ENTER
Now you’ll see the Windows environment.
It’s best to add roms to C:\ROMS
